How it all started
SpesaSospesa is a platform born out of the shared commitment of Synesthesia with Regusto, Foodchain, Sorgenia, slowfood, Impact Hub Torino, Rekordata s.r.l, Charitystars Italia and the artist’s initiative Serena Rossi.
It is a shared food outreach project for the purchase, sale and donation of essential foodstuffs, transforming potential food waste into a valuable aid for citizens and food companies in difficulty during the Covid-19 emergency and beyond.
The solution
Thanks to the inclusive use of digital technology, all operations involving the recovery, purchase, and distribution of goods are traceable and transparent.
Monetary donations are delivered to the municipalities and organizations involved in the project, and are used to buy food at discounted prices from participating food businesses.
The accredited network of non-profit organizations then distributes the food to those in need.
The donation process is digitalized, recorded, and managed with full transparency through the REGUSTO platform
Results
At the beginning of the project, municipalities such as Naples, Perugia, Alessandria, Catanzaro, and Afragola fully embraced the initiative.
Subsequently, more municipalities and associations joined, and donations on the CharityStars platform significantly increased.
The Municipality of Turin included the project in the Torino City Love portal as part of the city’s social solidarity and innovation activities.
